MAISON EVENSTAD
Ken and Grace Evenstad invite connoisseurs to be a part of the Maison Evenstad Legacy through exclusive access to a collection of hand-selected barrels from legendary terroirs of the Côte d’Or.

APPELLATION AND VINEYARDS
Pommard is known for powerful, richly flavored Pinot Noir. Above the village, at about 1,100 feet in elevation, sits the vineyard of Les Petits Noizons. It faces south and features predominantly limestone soils with some white marl. Although not classified Premier Cru, Les Petits Noizons is generally regarded as a leading Pommard vineyard by Burgundy aficionados. Château de la Crée’s small block of dry-farmed 35-year-old vines utilizes biodynamic practices that deliver unusually pure terroir expression.

VINTAGE CHARACTERISTICS
The growing season progressed very quickly in the 2015 vintage. Flowering started in early June and shortly thereafter, was followed by veraison in mid-July. The beginning of harvest came very early and we were picking beautifully set grape clusters by the end of August. The warm weather dictated the tempo and led to magnificent grapes - the foundation of a great vintage.

TASTING NOTES
On approach, its enticing aromatics of blackberry, gooseberry, and ripe plum flavors leap from the glass. Showing great balance on the palate, its acidity and weight are in harmony and reveal layers of beautifully dark red fruit and cocoa flavors. A wine with delicate structure, and a strong personality featuring fine tannins and a supple, yet intense, finish confirm a wine that will reward with five to ten years of bottle aging.
