2015 Maison Evenstad, Beaune Premier Cru Pinot Noir

Ken and Grace Evenstad invite connoisseurs to be a part of the Maison Evenstad Legacy through exclusive access to a collection of hand-selected barrels from legendary terroirs of the Côte d’Or.

APPELLATION AND VINEYARDS
This exclusive bottling is a blend of Pinot Noir from three highly regarded Premier Cru vineyard properties located just outside the historic city of Beaune. Meticulously farmed Pinot Noir from the legendary Clos des Mouches, Les Toussaints and Les Cent Vignes vineyard properties are vinified to create this gorgeous blend.

VINTAGE CHARACTERISTICS
The growing season progressed very quickly in the 2015 vintage. Flowering started in early June and was followed shortly thereafter by veraison in mid- July. The beginning of harvest came very early and we were picking beautifully set grape clusters by the end of August. The warm weather dictated the tempo and led to magnificent grapes - the foundation of a great wine.

TASTING NOTES
Dark and brooding in the glass, the 2015 Maison Evenstad Beaune Premier Cru is a serious Pinot Noir. Upon approach, the nose is beautiful with dark cherry and spice. The palate is rich and opulent, showing blackcurrant and blackberry notes throughout. The finish is long and lingering. A structured wine that drinks well now, but will benefit from proper cellaring for decades.
