2015 Domaine Serene, ‘Grand Cheval’ Oregon Red Wine, Walla Walla Valley & Dundee Hills, Oregon

To make Grand Cheval we take the best characteristics of two very different varietals, Syrah from the Walla Walla Valley, and our own Pinot Noir grapes from the Dundee Hills, and blend them in perfect harmony to create our own version of the ideal “steak-house wine.” This wine is substantial enough for the richest of dishes, yet soft enough to please any palate.

Tasting Notes:

A uniquely delicious blend of Syrah and Pinot Noir, the 2015 Grand Cheval is dark and brooding upon approach. Expressive aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and cocoa radiate from the glass. Firm, yet silky, tannins coat the palate showcasing marionberry, huckleberry, lightly toasted coffee and amaretto flavors. The finish is long and giving. It’s a balanced wine that is beautiful now and will reward with more time in the cellar.
