2018 Domaine Serene, Clos de Lune Vineyard Chardonnay, Dundee Hills, Oregon

Clos de Lune is located atop our Winery Hill Estate in the Dundee Hills. Planted on Jory soils with gentle south and west facing slopes, it is our only vineyard site planted with Dijon clone 548 and is typically the last Chardonnay to be harvested each vintage.

This luxuriant wine owes much of its exotic character to its distinctive clonal selection. Known to winemakers as ‘the Grand Cru clone’, 548 lends intensity, fragrant spice notes, and a rounded mouthfeel. Bright hints of white pepper accent deep aromatics of Asian pear and sliced golden apple. The wine is profoundly rich on the palate, balanced by a vibrant acidity that speaks to the high elevation of the vineyard. The 2018 Clos de Lune Vineyard begs for bold and innovative menu pairings such as duck à l’orange or slow-roasted spiced pork.
