2019 Château de la Crée, Meursault Les Tillets Chardonnay

This is a vibrant and energetic Chardonnay. Stunning and charming nose with light notes of tres leches in a floral and mineral setting. A distinct lime character with light citrus flavor and a hint of jasmine. Very soft and slight. Lots of mineral aromas in the mouth, and well-integrated wood. A very seducing and structured wine with a long finish. This wine makes an exceptional pair with seafood.

The hard Comblanchian limestone which disappears deep underground around Nuits-Saint-Georges reappears in the Meursault Les Tillets Vineyard where, as one moves southward, red wines give way to whites. Nowhere in the Côte de Beaune does the Chardonnay grape do better than it does here.
