2021 Domaine Serene, Clos du Soleil Vineyard Chardonnay, Dundee Hills, Oregon

The Clos du Soleil vineyard was named after the sun due to its location on the east-facing slope of the Evenstad Estate, and is the only one of our vineyards with an east-west row orientation planted exclusively to Dijon clone. The high exposure of sunlight lends to more focused and mineral characteristics, producing great density and persistence of flavor.

The 2021 Domaine Serene Clos du Soleil Chardonnay is a sunny and bright wine that has been fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak barrels. It has aromas of lemon, lime, and peach, with flavors of ripe pear, apple, and pineapple. The palate is similar to the nose, which is fruit forward with a hazy and focused finish. Would be a lovely pairing for shrimp or octopus ceviche alongside tortilla chips with avocado and white bean salad.
